Concussion Management

 

In depth assessment and treatment of the multiple body systems affected by a concussion. Special focus on athletic return to play planning and clearance for contact.

  • Treatment of symptoms arising from cervical, vestibular, and ocular motor dysfunction

  • Return to school planning

  • Management strategies for physical symptoms, cognitive symptoms, sleep symptoms and emotional symptoms

  • Use of the Gapski-Goodman Test (Chicago Blackhawks Test) to aid in return to play decision-making

  • Individual and team baseline assessment including ImPACT neurocognitive testing


Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS)

 

A technique used to resolve pain stemming from a neuropathic origin. This can occur when a muscle becomes dysfunctional and stuck in a tightened or shortened state resulting in constant tension and what is commonly described as ‘myofasical pain’.


Manual Therapy

 

Use of hands-on techniques to aid in pain modulation, joint and soft tissue mobility and movement restoration.

  • joint mobilisation and manipulation

  • myofascial release, trigger point release

  • deep tissue massage

  • muscle energy techniques

  • deep tendon frictions


Exercise Therapy

 

Therapeutic exercise prescription to facilitate your recovery and return to activity. Exercises are personalized to match your injury, stage of recovery, sport, available equipment and expectations.


Fracture and Surgical Management

 

Surgical protocols and strict timelines are in place as guides to make sure your recovery is right on track with what your surgeon or specialist expects. When the brace comes off, the rehab begins.
