I Help Runners…

Wherever you are on the injury to performance spectrum

Running-related Injuries

You take thousands of steps in every training session with each step placing forces on your body upwards of 7x your bodyweight. It is no wonder that studies estimate nearly 80% of runners will experience a lower body injury at some point during their training. How you manage those injuries will either set you up for future success or continued failure. Together lets choose success.

Reach Your Running Goals!

I know runners because I am one, which means I also know running-related injuries. The journey of endurance sports has been a work in progress but along the way I have taken a deep dive into running injury assessment and treatment, and have found great success working alongside runners of various levels to get them back on their feet. Whether you’re training for your first 5k, running your ‘n’th marathon, or just love to run, I’m here to keep you on your feet.

The science around running is ever evolving and you can guarantee that your recovery will be evidence-informed and based off what the experts in the field are saying. This knowledge allows me to help you re-establish confidence in running and continue towards your goal in a timely and effective manner.

If you live in the Edmonton area, let’s connect in person! My goal as a physiotherapist is to provide unmatched care for runners and endurance athletes who are sidelined with injury or pain while positioning you to spend more time running and less time in the clinic.

“Great experience here with Myles. He is very thorough in understanding the problem. I came in with some run related foot pain and Myles spent a lot of time really thoroughly understanding the problem. As an athlete with a minor injury you are typically balancing a strong desire to get back to hard training with caution and fear of worsening the injury and being out for longer. Myles seems to really understand this and he provided guidance to get me back running again while still being cautious of the injury. He was pleasant to deal with and shares a love of running and other athletics. Thanks Myles!”

Running Analysis and Assessment

  • Detailed Discussion.

It all starts with a deep dive into your current training routines and the details surrounding your current injury. The clues found in this discussion will form the backbone for the rest of the session.

  • Physical Performance Tests.

This portion of the session is designed to look at ALL of the relevant body areas necessary for running. It’s not uncommon for the true source of the issue to be at a different area from where the pain is. We don’t want to miss this.

  • Treadmill.

Here is where we tie everything together. Seeing how you’re currently moving, in slo-mo, is an invaluable tool. Together we will break down your mechanics in various angles, speeds, inclinations and cadences to see the influencing factors to your injury or compensations from it.
